Saints Louis and Zelie Martin are a French married couple canonized by the Catholic Church. They are known for their exemplary Christian life and devotion to family. Louis Martin (1823-1894) was a watchmaker, and Zelie Martin (1831-1877) was a lacemaker. Together, they had nine children, five of whom survived to adulthood and entered religious life, including Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, a Doctor of the Church. The Martins are celebrated for their deep faith, mutual love, and dedication to raising their children in a strong, Catholic household. They were canonized together on October 18, 2015, becoming the first married couple to be canonized simultaneously.
